The former president's Family Member Seeks Professional Advice from Tiger Woods Prior to Professional Golf Debut
The rising star boasts considerable online presence
Kai Trump will have plenty of prominent backers when she starts her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, received a tournament invitation to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates several international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions this year and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
However she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He represents the best player in the world," the young golfer said.
"And he's a more impressive person. He suggested me to compete, enjoy myself, following whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against multiple top competitors in the sport at the Annika, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that her participation helps introduce the sport to wider groups, especially with the next generation.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and has started an exclusive fashion and living brand.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
